Ladies and gentlemen, after some well-earned vacations—during which Benny somehow managed to crash a bicycle, Rusty "accidentally" rebuilt an entire engine block, and I enjoyed not listening to either of them—we're back! And what a return it is. We've got land speed results, a fleet of new cars, and a shiny, upgraded website that even Mr. Franco might not break... for a week.
Before We Get Going: A Couple of Warnings
First things first, a few housekeeping notes:
Dragon Motor Racing and ACZ, you’ve got some decisions to make! Each brand can only submit one factory car for this phase.
Dragon Motor Racing, you need to choose between the Derg CW, Wyvern, or Hydra.
ACZ, your options are the Stout Coupe V12 or the 71.
Pick wisely—this decision could mean the difference between glory and, well, Rusty making fun of you for months.
Catelletto Tipo 64, we love how fast you were, but... you’re missing part of your headlight fixture. Might want to sort that out before it ends up looking like Mr. Franco’s last "fix" on our studio lights.
Salt Lake Land Speed Challenge Results
It was fast, it was furious, and at times, utterly terrifying. Mr. Franco, bless him, handled the driving duties, meaning we were in for a mix of brilliant precision and occasional near-catastrophic overcorrections. The salt flats saw their fair share of roaring engines, wild slides, and Rusty shouting about “government weather machines” messing with his top speed. But let's get down to the results, ranked from slowest to fastest.
9. Caragiale Salonul Fericit Chaser – 192 Km/h

Benny: "The people's champ! Or at least the people's quirky cousin. The Chaser showed up lookin’ like it was on a mission from 1935 and somehow still managed 192 km/h. Not bad for a car originally built for Sunday drives, huh? It may not be the fastest, but hey, it’s got soul."
Tati: "And a suspension system straight out of an old barn door. But fair play, considering it’s a pre-war design with more character than most of Rusty’s conspiracy theories."
8. Truffle Motors Mako Speedster – 201 Km/h

Rusty: "Now, I had high hopes for this big fella—7.5 liters of V16 fury! It’s my pick, after all. But turns out, Mako swims like a brick in salt water. Maybe next time we add some ballast, or... less of it?"
Tati: "Perhaps if you'd spent less time painting racing stripes on it and more time optimizing weight distribution, we wouldn't be having this conversation."
7. Vires Motor Company Coureur SaltyDog – 203 Km/h

Benny: "203 clicks ain't bad for a car that came with a passenger seat and a working radio. If you’re lookin’ for the most comfortable way to be slow, this is it!"
Rusty: "Still reckon a few more horses under the hood wouldn’t hurt, but hey, at least it’s got legroom!"
6. Pioneer Premier Speed Demon – 234 Km/h

Tati: "Speed Demon, they said. 234 km/h, it did. This was Benny’s pick, and while it’s not breaking any records, it managed to stay in one piece, which is saying something."
Benny: "At least it looked cool sliding across the flats! Might not have been the fastest, but style points count, right?"
5. Regal Aviator Top Speed – 235 Km/h

Rusty: "This green speed bug managed to sneak up on us all! A smaller V8 but smart aero means it ain't just about power—it's about bein' clever, too. I respect that."
Tati: "Don’t get used to it, Rusty."
Tied 3rd. Phaeton TC Top Speed 2 & Accurate Aquila Veloce V-Max – 244 Km/h

Benny: "A surprising tie between Phaeton’s big ol’ brute and Accurate’s slippery little thing. I was rootin' for the Aquila myself—it’s cute, it’s fast, and it’s got the crowd cheering."
Rusty: "I still say the Phaeton looks like it's from 100 years in the future. Makes me nervous just looking at it."
2. Catelletto Tipo 48 Speedster – 305 Km/h

Tati: "I had high hopes for this one. 305 km/h is an impressive number, but here’s the kicker—Catelletto optimized for the wrong surface. On tarmac, it would’ve been even faster. Still, second place isn’t too bad."
Benny: "On the salt, though? Might as well have been skating. But hey, props to Catelletto for keeping it on the ground!"
1. DCMW Jawad Twelve Sprinter – 317 Km/h

Tati: "And here we have it—the winner! My pick, the Jawad Twelve Sprinter, with a whopping 666 horsepower. It handled beautifully, looked menacing, and absolutely flew across the flats."
Rusty: "I gotta admit, that thing tore through the salt like a hot knife through butter. Even Franco couldn’t mess it up."
Forum Talk
Some of you have been reflecting on the results—particularly the importance of tuning for salt instead of tarmac. We’ve got a couple of interesting insights from folks like fabiremi999 and moroza, who realized that fine-tuning for the right surface makes all the difference. Lesson learned! And congrats again to moroza for taking the win with the Jawad.
